Mark Webber, highly respected internationally as an artist, teacher, lecturer, curator and art guide, provided a talk entitled, “A Few Select Problems in Aesthetics” on Saturday, August 14 at the Certosa di Pontignano in the Sala Bracci in the JSS at the Certosa 2010 summer program. A professor at Marywood University, Mark received his BFA in painting from the Swain School of Design, New Bedford, MA and his masters in painting from the Parsons School of Design, NY in 1983. For the past decade he has led excursions across Europe, particularly in Italy, including Padua, Verona, Naples, Pompeii, Venice, Rome, Arezzo, Assisi, Perugia, Urbino and Sicily. His exquisite and sensitive figurative paintings, along with his incomparable forays deep into the treasures of Italy, brought much enlightenment in his talk on aesthetics.
